A child with a bulge on the upper eyelid that doesn’t hurt or itch may be caused by blepharocysts, sebaceous cysts, lipomas and other diseases.
1. Blepharophalangeal cysts: Blepharophalangeal cysts are mainly caused by the obstruction of the secretion outlet of the blepharophalangeal glands, and the main symptoms of children with blepharophalangeal cysts are lumps on the eyelids and no special symptoms. In addition, children with blepharocysts may also experience symptoms such as foreign body sensation, blocked vision, and blurred vision.
2. Sebaceous cysts: Sebaceous cysts are mainly caused by the blockage of the sebaceous glands, and children may have round cysts, no fluctuating sensation, smooth surface, and white contents.
3. Lipoma: the cause of lipoma is unknown, and it is considered to be related to heredity. Children with lipoma mainly show symptoms such as subcutaneous lumps, painless lipomas, and also symptoms such as orange peel-like texture of the skin.
When a child develops a bulge in the eyelid that is painless and itchy, the parents should take the child to the doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions.
