Patients with collapsed femoral head necrosis can be treated conservatively if the collapsed area is small and the patient is young. If the collapsed area is large and the patient is old, conservative treatment is not recommended and artificial joint replacement is suggested. Conservative treatment includes physical therapy and medication. 1. Physical therapy: Protective weight-bearing can be carried out to avoid impact and antagonistic movement; for early and middle stage patients, it is recommended to apply double crutches; stop taking hormones, quit smoking and drinking; hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatment can improve the hypoxia of the bone cells by increasing the partial pressure of oxygen, so as to promote the repair of the femoral head; appropriate shockwave treatment can stimulate the regeneration of blood vessels and reconstruction of the bones. 2. Drug therapy: for early necrotic femoral head collapse, anticoagulant drugs, vasodilator drugs, lipid-lowering drugs can be chosen for joint application, such as low molecular heparin, prostaglandin, warfarin, lovastatin, etc. Drugs to inhibit osteoclasts and increase osteogenesis, such as methyldopa, alendronate, etc., can also be applied. Necrosis of the femoral head collapsed in general, the effect of conservative treatment may not be ideal. Therefore, it is recommended to consult a doctor as early as possible for a clear diagnosis and targeted treatment.
