Optometry is a clinical process in which a computerized optometry examination is performed to roughly compare the previous prescriptions. If there is no significant growth, a comprehensive optometric examination can be performed under a small pupil, combining objective optometry and subjective optometry to obtain comprehensive optometric data, mainly including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, astigmatism axis, pupil distance, etc. Children and adolescents, some refractive errors with rapid growth in a short period of time, are examined with dilated pupils, and myopic patients need to have short-acting dilated pupils to paralyze the ciliary muscle and prevent the eye from adjusting its power to cause large errors in the optometric results. Children with farsightedness and amblyopia should undergo a long-acting dilated pupil examination, which can completely exclude the influence of ciliary muscle regulation on the optometry results.
