How to check HPV virus

For HPV virus, the test is usually taken as a cervical exfoliated cell HPV test. This is done by the patient going to the hospital and having the doctor do it. The patient is placed in a cystotomy position and the doctor has to put a speculum into the patient’s vagina to fully expose the cervix. The doctor needs to take a small brush provided by the pathology department for HPV testing and brush the cervical cells inside the patient’s cervical opening for several weeks, place the brushed brush in a special specimen bottle and send the specimen bottle to the pathology department, which will perform the HPV test on the exfoliated cells of the cervix. The pathology department may have PCR testing, hybridization capture and other methods, and the appropriate method needs to be selected according to the pathology department of each hospital.
