For sealing of indwelling needles, positive pressure closure with sealing solution is required; for flushing of indwelling needles, pulsatile flushing with saline is required. 1. Tube sealing of indwelling needles: Before sealing the tube of indwelling needles, hand washing, gloves and mask should be worn, tube sealing solution, such as diluted heparin solution, should be prepared. and a pre-filled catheter flosser, and sterilize the infusion add-on. When sealing the tube, positive pressure sealing must be performed using a prefilled catheter flosser, exiting the tip of the needle backwards while pushing the sealing solution. 2. Tube flushing for indwelling needles: Before flushing the tube, prepare the flushing solution and pre-filled catheter flusher. Wash your hands, put on gloves and mask, and sterilize the additional infusion set with disinfectant. During tube flushing, use the pre-filled catheter flusher to perform pulsatile flushing, i.e., push once, stop once, and repeat. It is recommended that the sealing and flushing of indwelling needles should be operated by medical professionals, and should not be done blindly on one’s own to avoid adverse consequences.
