Can children with fever take a bath?

Baths are not recommended for children with fever. For children with fever, physical and medication cooling is recommended. Physical cooling includes warm water baths, applying antipyretic patches, reducing clothing, etc. If the temperature exceeds 38.5℃, oral ibuprofen or acetaminophen can be taken to reduce fever, and at the same time, you should go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease and standardize the treatment. The bath will cause the body to overcome the role of physical cooling by strengthening heat production (chills) and further reducing heat dissipation (skin capillary contraction, contraction of the erector spinae muscle appearing skin goosebumps), and is therefore not recommended. Children with fever should seek medical attention to determine the cause of the illness. All of the above medications should be used under doctor’s supervision, avoid self-medication.
