Patients with swollen feet generally have the following common causes. i. Patients with varicose veins in the lower extremities can show obvious swelling of the feet because of the venous blood stagnation in the superficial blood vessels of the lower extremities. Patients can wear elastic stockings on both lower extremities and avoid sitting and standing for a long time to promote the venous blood flow back to the lower extremities, reduce the blood stagnation in the lower extremities and relieve the symptoms of swollen feet. If necessary, surgery can be considered to remove the varicose blood vessels to completely improve the swelling of the feet. Second, patients with cirrhosis are often combined with hypoproteinemia, which can cause a significant decrease in the water colloid osmotic pressure in the blood vessels, and the water in the vessels infiltrates into the tissue interstices and results in obvious swelling of the feet. Patients can supplement human albumin intravenously, strengthen nutrition, and take diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide and spironolactone orally to promote the excretion of water in the body, thus reducing the swelling of the feet.
