What are the common causes of chest pain?

  What are the conditions associated with chest pain? Almost every day, people come to the respiratory department because of chest pain, so what are the conditions that chest pain is seen in? What kind of chest pain is caused by respiratory diseases?  I. Respiratory-related diseases: (1) Pleurisy of various causes: most commonly tuberculous pleurisy; followed by various acute pustular chests, primary pleural tumors (such as pleural mesothelioma).  (2) Intrapulmonary lesions compressing the pleura: pneumonia close to the pleura causing an inflammatory response in the pleura; lung cancer metastasizing to the pleura; pulmonary embolism – pulmonary infarction. These chest pains all have a common feature – they are closely related to breathing, and the pain is aggravated by deep breathing, so much so that the patient does not dare to breathe deeply and maintains oxygen demand with shallow and fast breathing, but there is usually no pressure pain.  Second, thoracic diseases: trauma and inflammation of the intercostal muscles; rib and sternal fractures; costochondritis; soft tissue inflammation of the chest; chest wall tumors, etc. These lesions have some relationship with deep breathing, but the correlation is not as clear as pleurisy. This kind of chest pain will have different degrees of pressure pain at the lesion site, especially rib fracture in addition to obvious pressure pain, accompanied by deep breathing aggravated to the point that the patient is very painful.  Neuropathy: The most common is intercostal neuritis; herpes zoster. Herpes zoster is caused by the herpes virus, a neurophilic virus, chest pain is very serious, usually after a period of pain in the painful parts of the blistering rash can be clearly diagnosed.  Esophagitis or esophageal tumor: the pain is related to eating, and the pain is aggravated when eating or swallowing difficulty.  V. Upper abdominal lesions: rare, usually confined to the lower chest, such as subdiaphragmatic abscess; pancreatic disease; liver disease, etc. Patients with chest pain are advised to have chest examination and related tests.
