What happens when you get bitten by mosquitoes often?

Frequent mosquito bites can cause insect bite dermatitis, which appears as papules, chafe-like papules, maculopapular rash and other manifestations in exposed areas of the skin, accompanied by intense itching. If excessive scratching can cause pressure purpura, mostly due to scratching after causing increased permeability of superficial dermal capillaries, or leakage and cause extravasation of red blood cells. If scratching is excessive, secondary erosions, exudations and the appearance of underlying ulcers and blood crusts can occur. In case of secondary bacterial infection, such as Staphylococcus epidermidis, localized purulent exudation and crusting may also occur.
