How to treat bacterial conjunctivitis in children

Bacterial conjunctivitis in children can be treated with medication as prescribed by the doctor, and care should be taken to clean the area around the eyes. Bacterial conjunctivitis is a common infectious eye disease, children may have increased eye discharge, conjunctival congestion, photophobia, tearing and other symptoms. If there is a lot of secretion, use 3% boric acid solution or saline to rinse the conjunctival sac. If there is not much secretion, use a sterilized cotton swab dipped in the above solution to clean the eyes and reduce discomfort. Children should also use antibiotic eye drops, such as tobramycin eye drops, as prescribed by the doctor, to control inflammation, relieve patient discomfort and promote recovery. During the recovery period, children should choose a light diet, can eat more vitamin C-rich vegetables or fruits, should not eat spicy, cold food, to avoid adverse stimuli. It is recommended that patients with bacterial conjunctivitis consult a doctor to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for scientific and rational treatment, not blindly use their own medication.
