1. Lymphocytic pituitaryitis is an autoimmune endocrine disease first reported by Professors Guodie and Pinkerton in 1962. Up to now, the number of reported cases is about 400 internationally. There is no consistent theory for its diagnosis and treatment.
2. Our department is the first unit in China to report and successfully treat lymphocytic pituitaryitis. So far, we have successfully diagnosed and treated more than 30 patients, among which 22 cases have been successfully followed up for a long time, with the longest follow-up period reaching more than 6 years, and the success rate of treatment is above 90%. It is also the unit with the highest number of reported cases in a single clinical center internationally to date. Yang Guoqing, Department of Endocrinology, Beijing 301 Hospital
3. Based on our own experience and domestic and foreign literature, we were the first in China to propose criteria for suspected and confirmed diagnosis of lymphocytic pituitaryitis and evaluation criteria for the treatment effect of lymphocytic pituitaryitis, which were recognized by our peers (three presentations at the National Endocrine Academic Congress).
4. We reported the first international case of ectopic lymphocytic pituitaryitis and recurrent lymphocytic hypophysitis, the first domestic case of lacrimal gland infection combined with lymphocytic pituitaryitis, and the first domestic case of lymphocytic pituitaryitis with two successive recurrences and successful pregnancy; the only case study of lymphocytic pituitaryitis published in China (2 articles, Medline included). 5. So far, our department has published a total of 5 articles related to lymphocytic pituitaryitis, 2 SCI-indexed; 2 are pending publication.
