What do acyclovir tablets treat?

  Aciclovir tablets are oral tablets and are a type of formulation of aciclovir. It is a white to off-white tablet whose pharmacological action is to interfere with the action of viral DNA polymerase and inhibit the replication of viral DNA upon entry into herpes virus-infected cells. It is active against herpes simplex virus, varicella-zoster virus, EBV, and cytomegalovirus.  Acyclovir tablets can be used for the treatment of a variety of diseases, for example: 1. Herpes simplex virus infection: mainly used for herpes simplex caused by herpes simplex virus type I and genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus type II. For patients with severe herpes simplex, acyclovir tablets, 200mg, 5 times daily, can be applied orally for 6-7 days.  2. Herpes zoster: Acyclovir tablets 200mg, 5 times daily, can be applied for 7-10 days.  3, chickenpox. It is an acute rash disease mainly caused by varicella-zoster virus infection. Acyclovir tablets can be used for systemic antiviral treatment.  In addition to those listed above, acyclovir tablets can also be used for plantar warts, recurrent erythema multiforme, herpetic eczema, lymphomatoid papulosis, trichomatous mucous membrane leukoplakia and other diseases. However, it should be noted that patients who are allergic to ganciclovir may also be allergic to acyclovir and must be used with caution, as well as in children and women during pregnancy and lactation.
