The vast majority of rhinitis can be cured. There are many types of rhinitis, including acute rhinitis, chronic rhinitis, and variant rhinitis. Acute rhinitis is an acute inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity caused by a viral infection, which is commonly known as a cold or flu, and the duration of this rhinitis is usually relatively short, and most of them can be cured on their own by taking oral antiviral medication, drinking water and resting properly. The chronic simple rhinitis in chronic rhinitis can be cured by proper treatment of the nasal cavity, such as saline rinsing and glucocorticoid nasal spray treatment. Chronic hypertrophic rhinitis is caused by hyperplasia and enlargement of the inferior turbinates. This rhinitis can be cured by surgically removing the hyperplastic and enlarged inferior turbinates. As for allergic rhinitis, also known as allergic rhinitis, it is rhinitis caused by allergies. For allergic rhinitis caused by pollen, avoiding contact can prevent attacks. For rhinitis caused by dust mites, desensitization treatment is now available. However, for other types of variant rhinitis, there is no better treatment available, but only relief of symptoms.
