Sishen Tang, also known as Guiqi Drink, is composed of Angelica sinensis, Astragalus membranaceus, Honeysuckle and Glycyrrhiza glabra, which is effective in tonifying Qi, detoxifying and clearing heat.
It can be used to benefit qi and tonify deficiency, detoxify and clear heat, and can be used in diseases such as back carbuncle, brain gangrene, toxic inflammation and swelling, as well as anal toxicity caused by deficiency.
In this formula, Astragalus replenishes qi and rises yang, restrains sores and promotes growth of new flesh (to help sores heal faster and promote growth of new flesh), and supports toxin and pus (to expel pus and toxin from the body); Radix Angelicae Sinensis regulates menstruation and relieves pain; Honeysuckle clears heat and detoxifies toxins; Glycyrrhiza glabra clears heat and detoxifies toxins, replenishes the spleen and strengthens qi, and harmonizes the various medicines (harmonizing different Chinese medicines).
