A 2-3 mm foramen ovale in a newborn is not serious and only requires regular review. This is because neonatal foramen ovale is self-healing and does not lead to serious pathologic changes in the newborn.
1. Ovarian foramen magnum has a certain degree of self-healing: Ovarian foramen magnum in the vast majority of children within the general age of 1~3 years, can be closed on their own, you can regularly go to the hospital to review the cardiac ultrasound to understand the condition, if the subsequent development is not closed, you need to be treated through surgery.
2. Unclosed foramen ovale does not lead to serious pathological changes in newborns: Unclosed foramen ovale does not usually cause blood shunting between the right and left atria, so it does not have obvious clinical symptoms, and therefore does not jeopardize the life of the child.
Usually, you should strengthen the care and warmth, try to prevent the baby from catching a cold; if there are other uncomfortable symptoms, you need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment, and you can not use drugs randomly.
