How many days is normal for a two year old to poop

For two-year-old children, one bowel movement a day is usually normal, at least once every 2 to 3 days, and at most twice a day.

A bowel movement once every 2-3 days is sometimes normal, but if the bowel movement does not occur for more than 4 days, or even 5 days, it is suspected that the patient is suffering from functional constipation or organic constipation. Functional constipation needs to take lactulose, domperidone, bifidobacterium triplex under the guidance of a physician to promote defecation; organic constipation needs to treat the primary disease.

If the bowel movement is more than 2 times a day, and the stool is abnormal in character, with dilute watery, pus and blood stools, accompanied by dehydration, emaciation and other symptoms, it is suspected to be suffering from children’s diarrhea, we should replenish the electrolytes in time, and take intestinal mucosal protectant (e.g., magnesium alumina carbonate tablets) and probiotic drugs (e.g., Clostridium casei bacterial powder) under the guidance of a doctor.

It is recommended that children with severe abnormal bowel movements or babies with psychiatric symptoms consult the nearest hospital to avoid delay in treatment.
