The Difference Between Pregnancy Bleeding and Period Bleeding

The most important differences between pregnancy bleeding and menstrual bleeding are whether the patient has a history of delayed or stopped menstruation after sexual intercourse, the amount of bleeding, color, duration, blood HCG level and gestational sac. 1. History of delayed menstruation or menopause: If a healthy woman of childbearing age, with a history of sexual intercourse, who has regular menstruation on weekdays, once there is a history of delayed menstruation or menopause, etc., it should be considered as a pregnancy bleeding. 2. Bleeding amount and time: If there is ectopic pregnancy or preeclampsia after pregnancy, there will be vaginal bleeding dribbling, the amount is more or less, accompanied by abdominal pain and discomfort. On the other hand, menstrual bleeding will be clean in 6 to 7 days, similar to the amount of previous menstruation, without abdominal pain symptoms. 3. Blood HCG level and gestational sac: In patients with pregnancy bleeding, the blood HCG level will be elevated and there will be a gestational sac. This is not the case for menstrual bleeding.
