What does a migraine look like?

The first sister Zhang, is the general manager of a sales company, business is very prosperous, in the same industry in the country competitive advantage, her husband is the chairman of a large advertising company, a pair of children are also large companies “white-collar” and have a family. In theory, Zhang sister should be a very enviable figure, but everything is difficult to do as expected, she has recently become more and more painful abnormal, and even thought of extreme ways! The reason for Zhang’s suffering is not the loss of opportunities in business, not family disharmony, not interpersonal complications, but a very simple one – migraine. Zhang began to have migraine headaches at the age of 14, and it has been forty years since then. She often had severe pain on half of her head, with pale face, eye swelling and nausea, and then almost every day, with unbearable pain on one side of her temporal region, which lasted for 8 to 10 minutes several times a day when it was severe. The headache that comes and goes without a trace has tormented Zhang for 40 years! Over the years, she has been seeking treatment for her illnesses, really do not know how many doctors to see, do not know how many kinds of drugs to eat! Almost became a “medicine jar” What’s more, she had a hospital acupuncture treatment, which is a circle around the eyes, the average person can not stand! Zhang said helplessly: “I have a headache, although it’s just a minor problem, but the pain really kills me! Don’t look at me smiling in front of people, but I’ve been suffering for the past 40 years!” Zhang sister’s husband sighed: “I never worry about business matters, is a home will be worried to death, my love a headache, my head has to be ten times more than her pain, really can not stand to hear her old ouch ouch shouting!” By chance, Zhang came across Professor Wang Baoguo of Beijing Sanbo Brain Hospital. Professor Wang is a famous pain specialist in China, and is also a professor of anesthesiology at Capital Medical University, a doctoral supervisor, and a recipient of the special allowance from the State Council. Professor Wang gave Zhang a detailed examination, except for other organic lesions, and said confidently, “It can be treated, just three or four injections. Once a week.” Zhang sister will be doubtful, a few tens of dollars of treatment costs more let her on the outcome of the treatment is not hopeful. A week later, when she reappeared in front of Professor Wang, she said in amazement, “What a miracle! I haven’t taken a single painkiller this week, and my past insomnia is gone. I am so relieved! My husband and children are also very happy!” Professor Wang Baoguo said that migraine is the most important and common vascular headache, which often develops in adolescence and presents pulsating headache or distension in line with the pulse, mostly on one side, with sudden onset and termination. In general, migraines are characterized by intermittent recurrent attacks, mostly triggered by mental factors, exertion, external physical stimuli, dietary factors, and climatic factors. Migraine occurs due to the action of triggering factors on the central nervous system, which produces neurotransmitter changes via monoaminergic pathways, followed by the activation of platelets, which causes the release and depletion of 5-HT and thromboxane A2 (TX A2), followed by the contraction and dilation of intracranial and extracranial blood vessels, and the vascular hypersensitivity due to the adsorption of 5-HT in the dilated vessel wall, and the involvement of histamine and bradykinin. The headache and its neurovascular reactions occur due to the involvement of histamine and bradykinin. Stellate ganglion block is an effective and safe method for the treatment of migraine. Stellate ganglion block is a method of injecting local anesthetic into the loose connective tissue of the neck, including the stellate ganglion, to reversibly block the preganglionic and postganglionic fibers of the stellate ganglion and the sympathetic nerves of the head, neck, face, and upper extremities in the area it innervates. By blocking the stellate ganglion, the neurological dysfunction of the head and face is regulated, vasodilation and muscle contracture are relieved, blood flow to the heart and brain is significantly improved, the anti-disease function and anti-inflammatory effect of the body are enhanced, the endocrine system is regulated, and the systemic autonomic nervous system is stabilized, thus eliminating headache.
