What to do with an enlarged nose

Enlarged nose is an aesthetic defect of the nose, mostly due to congenital genetic disease or acquired surgical repair, and often exists in combination with saddle nose, rounded nose and oversized nostrils, especially seen in Southeast Asian women, which seriously affects the aesthetics of the nose. Nasal hypertrophy can be manifested as a wide nasal base or nasal wing bulge, or both. For different degrees of nasal hypertrophy, different surgical methods can be used. Depending on the method used and the location of the incision, the surgical methods can be divided into the following three categories: 1. Suture method: i.e. 2-0 nylon thread is used to pull together the sutures under the soft tissue of both sides of the nasal angle and in the tunnel on the periosteum to treat a simple broad nasal base. This method has little damage and quick recovery, but the effect is not obvious, the suture tension is limited, and it is easy to be affected by the expression movement; 2, external incision method: that is, the removal of the nasal base tissue, including the nasal wing, nasal base and even the basal part of the nasal column; 3, internal incision method: this method has hidden scar, does not affect the nasal facial side of the skin line travel, so that the nasal wing shape is more natural.
