There are many different surgical procedures for lower facial deformity, the most common of which are jaw angle curvature osteotomy, bite muscle resection, buccal fat pad removal, facial fat suction, and botulinum toxin injection for correction of enlarged bite muscles. For some of the patients with short chin, chin osteotomy or chin augmentation can be performed at the same time, which can more effectively improve the length and width ratio of the lower part of the face and make the contour of the lower part of the face more fluent. However, the huge trauma of surgery and the unpredictability of the postoperative period make most of the candidates shy away from it.
