Calf contour hypertrophy is now a common treatment requirement for patients seeking outpatient treatment. Some people use liposuction of the calves for treatment, but the results are mostly unsatisfactory due to the fact that the cause of poor calf contour in oriental women is usually hypertrophy of the muscle tissue. Common treatments for this condition include Botox injection treatment or surgical removal of part of the calf muscle. Lower limb dysfunction is usually rare unless one is a professional athlete. There are various incisions for surgical excision, ranging from a median full-length incision to two or more incisions. Taiwanese scholars have used segmental incisions to obtain more favorable results. We have also obtained relatively satisfactory surgical results using a single incision approach to the calf N fossa taking the medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle. The incision marks were relatively hidden, and a more significant improvement in calf contour was obtained with no change in lower limb mobility.
