Misconceptions about asthma treatment

Some parents are worried about the side effects of hormones, that is, the so-called “talk about hormones”. In fact, inhaled hormones are measured in micrograms (ug), and inhaling 400 ug of hormones daily is safe and has no effect on height, while acute asthma attacks require intravenous hormone drips, often hundreds of mg (milligrams), and three days of intravenous hormones are equivalent to three years of inhaled hormone therapy. Severe acute attacks can lead to hypoxia, irritability, rapid heartbeat, and serious heart failure, which requires immediate medical attention; some parents worry about the side effects of hormones and use prescriptions or traditional Chinese medicine, but the best treatment is corticosteroid inhalation therapy; asthma discontinuation needs to be slowly reduced under the guidance of a doctor until the drug is stopped.
