The goals of asthma treatment: A. Effectively control acute exacerbation symptoms and maintain minimal or no symptoms; B. Prevent exacerbation or recurrence of symptoms; C. Maintain lung function at or near normal levels as much as possible; D. Prevent the occurrence of irreversible airflow limitation; E. Maintain the ability to perform normal activities (including exercise); F. Avoid adverse reactions to medications; G. Prevent death from asthma.
