There are several types of adenomatous intestinal polyps

There are 3 types of adenomatous intestinal polyps, namely tubular adenoma, villous adenoma, and mixed adenoma. Intestinal polyps are elevated lesions on the surface of the intestinal mucosa, which may present with symptoms such as blood or bleeding in the stool, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Adenomatous intestinal polyp is a pathological type of intestinal polyp with a tendency of malignant transformation, which can be classified into 3 types according to the pathohistological structure in clinical practice. 1. Tubular adenoma: this is the most common type, and its chance of cancer is relatively low. 2. Chorionic adenoma: also called papillary adenoma, this type is relatively rare and has a higher probability of becoming cancerous. 3. Mixed adenoma: i.e. tubular choriocapillaris adenoma, which has both tubular adenoma and choriocapillaris adenoma, with chorionic component ranging from 20% to 80%, and its chance of becoming cancerous is also relatively high. When adenomatous intestinal polyps are diagnosed, they should be treated in time to prevent polyps with cancerous tendency from progressing to tumors and affecting health.
