What’s wrong with the neck?

There are many reasons for neck rotation and clicking, and the common ones are fatigue, cervical osteoarthritis, cervical disc herniation, and so on.
1. Exhaustion: Due to long time working with head down, cervical muscles are congested and edema, sudden turning of the neck will lead to certain friction of cartilage and ligament of local joints, and clicking sound will appear.
2. Osteoarthritis of the cervical vertebrae: a degenerative disease, which may be related to cold, long-term bad posture, etc., can appear neck pain, clicking when turning, often accompanied by headache, dizziness, numbness of the arm, back pain and other symptoms.
3. Cervical disc herniation: the nucleus pulposus and annulus fibrosus protrude or prolapse, compressing the surrounding muscles and nerve roots, and the ringing sound occurs when the neck turns and the surrounding tissues rub together. Mainly manifested as neck and shoulder pain and upper extremity radiating pain, can be accompanied by different degrees of limb sensory impairment, dyskinesia.
There may be other reasons for neck rotation, such as cervical fasciitis. If accompanied by pain and other discomfort, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, to clarify the cause of the disease after targeted treatment.
