Inflammation of lymph nodes can be caused by various reasons, including bacterial and viral infections. Acute inflammation of the jaw and other parts of the face often causes enlarged jaw lymph nodes, which are soft and mobile and gradually return to normal as the inflammation disappears. Measles or infectious mononucleosis can also lead to swollen lymph nodes, which are caused by viral infections. If the blood test shows elevated neutrophils, bacterial infections may be considered, which can be treated by drinking plenty of water and using sensitive antibiotics if necessary.
