Is lymphadenitis serious?

Because of the variety of factors that contribute to lymphadenitis, the severity of lymphadenitis is also varied. Some lymphadenitis is self-limiting, which means that it can get better without treatment. For example, lymphadenitis caused by cytomegalovirus infection, lymphadenitis caused by EBV infection, and lymphadenitis caused by rubella virus infection are all self-limiting. Some lymphadenitis can be recovered and cured with timely and effective treatment, such as lymphadenitis caused by bacterial infections, which can be improved with timely anti-bacterial treatment. For example, lymphadenitis caused by bacterial infection can be improved by timely anti-bacterial treatment. Lymphadenitis caused by tuberculosis infection can also be improved by regular and relatively long course of anti-tuberculosis treatment. However, in some cases, lymphadenitis is very serious, the infection is severe, and other organs may have combined lesions, which is more serious.
