Bitter currant generally refers to the traditional Chinese medicine artichoke, whose infusion has the efficacy of cooling blood to stop bleeding, dispersing blood stasis and detoxification, and eliminating carbuncle.
The effect of cooling blood and stopping bleeding is mostly used to regulate conditions such as vomiting blood, urinating blood, hemorrhagic drenching (the appearance of blood in the urine and accompanied by pain), blood in stools, metrorrhagia (excessive menstrual flow or dripping), and bleeding from traumatic injuries. It can also be taken in combination with other heat-clearing, fire-dispersing, detoxifying and diuretic medicines in water under medical supervision.
Dispersing blood stasis, detoxifying and eliminating carbuncles is mostly used in the management of carbuncles, boils, swollen gums, mouth and tongue sores and other conditions. It can be taken alone or in combination with other heat-clearing medicines.
Bitter currant because of the nature of cold, for the spleen and stomach cold without stagnation of the crowd is not suitable for taking. It is recommended to choose medication under the guidance of a doctor after identification.
