How long after IUD removal can I get an IUD

There is no exact rule on how long it takes to get an IUD after removal, it depends on the patient’s personal situation and the reason for removal. The normal time for both IUD removal and IUD insertion is within 3-7 days after menstrual cleansing. If the patient needs to replace the IUD because it is due to expire, the IUD can be removed 3-7 days after menstruation. If the IUD is removed because of inflammation in the reproductive system, or if the IUD has migrated downward, the patient needs to wait until the menstruation returns to normal, the inflammation is controlled, and there is no sexual intercourse 3-7 days after the menstruation. In addition, women should pay attention to rest and keep the abdomen warm after IUD removal, forbid sitting in the bath and sexual intercourse for half a month, avoid lifting heavy objects and doing heavy work, keep the vulva clean, and take medication to prevent infection under the guidance of gynecologists.
