Yin Chen has the function of clearing heat and removing dampness (removing heat and dampness from the body) and relieving yellow; Gui Zhi has the function of warming the meridians and opening up the channels, and Bai Zhu has the function of strengthening the spleen to dispel dampness (by nourishing the spleen to expel dampness).
The combination of the components of Yin Chen Wu Ling San makes it possible to add the efficacy of dispelling yellows and inducing diuresis on top of warming yang and transforming qi (warming the yang qi in the body), moving water and dispelling dampness in Yin Chen Wu Ling San. It is suitable for jaundice in which dampness is more important than heat, and it can cause dampness and heat to be discharged through the urine.
In the so-called jaundice where dampness is more important than heat, the symptom is that the eyes and skin are uniformly yellow, but the yellow color is not sharp, but rather dull, and at the same time, there is dizziness and drowsiness, feeling like a cerebellar infarction wrapped in a layer of wet cloth, and the limbs are heavy, weak and drowsy; there is no appetite, or even nausea and vomiting, abdominal distension, unformed stools, and little urine, and so on.
If you want to use Yin Chen Wu Ling San to treat jaundice, it is recommended to do so under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner, and not to take medication without authorization, so as not to damage the body with the wrong medicine.
