Is it possible for a lung nodule over 1cm to be benign?

The benign or malignant nature of lung nodules larger than 1cm is determined by pathologic testing, and there is a definite possibility that they may be benign.
Certain benign nodules in the lungs may be more than 1 cm in diameter; for example, some inflammatory nodules in the lungs caused by inflammatory infections, such as Klebsiella, Staphylococcus aureus, and some other fungal organisms, may be more than one centimeter in diameter. In addition, certain benign tumors of the lungs, such as malignant tumors, may be larger or even exceed one centimeter in diameter, depending on their development.
At present, only pathological tests can accurately determine the benign or malignant nature of lung nodules. Patients who have found lung nodules should go to regular hospitals for relevant tests in a timely manner, and at the same time, actively cooperate with doctors to carry out treatment.
