The most common type of veins on the legs are the saphenous veins and their branches. The most common case of veins is varicose veins, which are caused by increased pressure in the veins due to prolonged standing or sitting, and tortuous dilatation of the veins due to valvular reflux. It is most common in professions such as teachers, doctors, and traffic police, and there is a genetic predisposition to varicose saphenous veins. The other condition is physiologic, mainly due to the superficial location of the saphenous vein, which is more prominent in thin, fair-skinned people, and does not require special treatment.
