Is the ultrasound done in the gynecology department by reaching in?

There are usually two types of ultrasound examinations in gynecology, abdominal ultrasound which does not require the probe to be inserted and vaginal ultrasound which requires the probe to be inserted into the vagina. 1. abdominal ultrasound: when performing abdominal ultrasound, the probe only touches the skin below the navel and does not extend into the vagina, focusing on the uterus, adnexa and pelvic cavity. It is suitable for unmarried women, vaginal infection, vaginal bleeding, bleeding during pregnancy, large pelvic masses, etc. Before the examination, it is necessary to hold urine, and the bladder is full in order to squeeze the uterus from the deep pelvic cavity to the lower abdomen for accurate observation, and not holding urine may cause misdiagnosis; 2. It is suitable for people with hypertrophy of the abdominal wall, deep ovarian location or difficulties in transabdominal examination, and there is no need to hold urine before the examination. Before the examination, it should be noted that except for the diagnosis of adenomyosis which needs to be examined on the second day of menstruation, all other gynecological ultrasound should avoid menstruation; dress should be easy to put on, take off and organize; eat less dinner the day before the examination, fast overnight after the meal and fast from food and water in the morning of the examination to ensure that the examination is done in the morning on an empty stomach; if there is vaginal infection, bleeding and other conditions that are not suitable for vaginal ultrasound, the doctor should be informed in time.
