Hiccups all day long may be caused by physiological factors such as bad dietary habits or pathological factors such as esophageal cancer, chronic gastritis, craniocerebral diseases and so on.
1. Physiological factors: it is mostly due to overeating, consuming too much spicy, greasy and other stimulating foods, eating too fast, overfilling, etc., leading to indigestion and hiccups all the time.
2. Esophageal cancer: Tumor tissue invades the diaphragm and causes spasm, inflammation or compression of the diaphragm, resulting in stubborn spasm of the diaphragm and occasional or prolonged hiccups.
3. Chronic gastritis: chronic gastritis can affect the digestion and peristalsis of stomach, leading to flatulence. When the stomach is bloated, the body of the stomach is over-dilated and even irritates the diaphragm, thus causing frequent hiccups.
4. Craniocerebral diseases: such as intracranial infections, intracranial tumors, cerebrovascular disease, etc., resulting in the diaphragm, phrenic nerve and other stimulation of frequent hiccups.
Hiccups can also be caused by other diseases, such as reflux esophagitis, pleurisy, mediastinal tumors and so on. If there is no relief or symptoms persist or worsen after dietary adjustments, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the examination, clarify the cause of the disease and standardize the treatment.
