What’s the best way to treat a wormhole in your tooth?

Dental wormholes are commonly caused by caries, including caries of milk teeth and caries of young permanent teeth, and the treatments include medication, mineralization treatment, and prophylactic resin filling.
1. Breast tooth caries:
(1) Drug treatment: such as 10% ammonium molybdate fluoride, 38% ammonia silver fluoride.
(2) Preventive resin filling: mainly for the caries that has occurred in the milk teeth, applicable to small and shallow caries.
(3) Remineralization treatment: mainly to remineralize the demineralized and softened enamel of milk teeth to restore its original hardness. Commonly used drugs include sodium fluoride glycerin paste, fluoride gel or coating.
(3) Filling and restoration: It is suitable for the treatment of caries in milk teeth which has already formed a cavity, removing broken tissues and preparing a cavity through surgery, and then using filling and restoration materials to repair the cavity and terminate the caries.
2. Caries in young permanent teeth: if necessary, the second decortication treatment is feasible. For asymptomatic deep caries, most of the infected dentin can be removed, a little softened dentin at the bottom of the cavity and near the pulp can be retained, and the pulp can be indirectly capped with calcium hydroxide preparation, and then filled tightly after perfect cushioning. When restorative dentin is formed, the existing softened dentin is removed and filled.
If the patient has the above symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital stomatology department for regular treatment under the doctor’s guidance. The above medications should be applied under the guidance of a doctor, avoiding self-medication to avoid adverse reactions.
