How long does it take to return to exercise after kidney stone surgery

Depending on the type of surgery, after kidney stone surgery, it is recommended to resume exercise after 1 week to 1 month.
Different types, sizes and locations of kidney stones are subject to different surgical procedures, which commonly include extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotripsy for lithotripsy and ureteroscopy for lithotripsy and lithotripsy.
Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is a non-invasive treatment for kidney stones with a diameter of ≤2cm. As it is a non-invasive procedure, the recovery from the procedure is relatively fast and exercise can be started after 1 week, depending on the individual’s recovery.
Percutaneous nephrolithotripsy and ureteroscopic lithotripsy and lithotripsy are both invasive surgeries, during which a stent tube will be left in the ureter to support the ureter and avoid leakage of urine at the ureteral injury. Ureteral stents are usually left in place for about 1 month. Therefore, both procedures should be performed at least 1 month after surgery before exercise is allowed.
When kidney stones occur, it is recommended to seek medical attention and standardize treatment.
