Insufficient lung expansion, which is what we often call pulmonary atelectasis, belongs to the description of the structural shape of the lungs and is the diagnostic name on imaging, specifically, pulmonary atelectasis is the inability of the lung segments and lobes to open up due to the disease, and the amount of air contained is reduced. In the case of pulmonary atelectasis, it is necessary to examine the cause of the disease, clarify the cause of pulmonary atelectasis, and give treatment.
1. Pneumothorax: When pneumothorax occurs, pulmonary atelectasis occurs, and the patient will have symptoms of chest tightness and chest pain, and may have respiratory failure in severe cases, requiring immediate hospitalization for puncture and drainage or surgical treatment.
2. Pleural effusion: heart failure or tuberculosis, tumors, etc. lead to pleural effusion, lung tissue compression, pulmonary expansion insufficiency will also occur, need to apply digoxin, furosemide, amphotericin, etc. to treat heart failure, need to rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide and other anti-tuberculosis treatment, need to be treated by radiotherapy and chemotherapy, or surgical treatment of lung tumors.
3. Airway obstruction: lung inflammation, such as bronchial abscess, and lung tumor, may obstruct the airway, and these will lead to distal bronchial lung tissue expansion insufficiency. It is necessary to actively apply antibiotic anti-infective treatment such as penicillin, ceftazidime, and ofloxacin, or apply surgical or radiotherapy methods to treat lung tumors.
Lung expansion insufficiency, which is of great clinical significance, should be found and actively diagnosed and treated by a doctor in a timely manner.
