What to do if you have a high adenovirus fever

Adenovirus fever requires drinking plenty of fluids and taking oral antipyretics according to body temperature, or even intravenous or intramuscular antipyretics to reduce fever. If the patient cannot eat, fluid infusion is needed to prevent dehydration. Patients with high fever must eat, and if they cannot eat or drink, they must go to the hospital for infusion treatment and antibiotic treatment according to whether they have bacterial infection. Since it is an adenovirus infection, antiviral drugs must be taken orally, and if the oral dose is insufficient antiviral drugs can be given intravenously. The fever caused by adenovirus can last for more than 7 days and can be slowly controlled for up to 7-14 days with aggressive treatment. Without aggressive treatment the fever may persist and can cause complications, and the duration of the subsequent fever cannot be accurately determined. Since adenovirus infects not only adults but also children, adenovirus fever requires drinking plenty of fluids and using medication according to the condition.
