What medication should I take for painful urination in pregnancy?

Urinary tract infections can occur in 2% to 8% of pregnant women as a result of urinary tract infections with symptoms of urgency, frequency and painful urination, which are associated with reduced peristaltic function of the ureter during pregnancy, temporary incomplete closure of the bladder-ureteral valve, and poor urine flow due to an enlarged uterus in late pregnancy.
If a pregnant woman has a urinary tract infection, she needs to drink more water and urinate more often to flush the urinary tract and avoid aggravation of the inflammation. If the painful urination is more severe and affects her daily life or she appears afraid to urinate, her doctor will choose relatively safe antibiotic treatment and she needs to consult her urologist or obstetrician and gynaecologist.
