We have received several inquiries from young patients in the past few days. They are all around 20-30 years old, because they suffer from chronic hepatitis B. On the one hand, they worry about themselves, on the other hand, they talk about their friends but dare not tell each other about the problem of hepatitis B. They are afraid that they will break up with each other, and they are afraid that they will divorce after they get married. The psychological burden is very heavy, depressing and unusually painful. The treatment of hepatitis B has come a long way over the years. For most of the patients with hepatitis B, we are not yet able to cure it completely, but at least we can control the disease progression in most of them. For hepatitis B we are now pursuing the goal of not completely eradicating hepatitis B. We are pursuing the goal of being able to control hepatitis B virus replication; to control the hepatitis B virus to damage the liver as little as possible, to control patients from progressing to cirrhosis and liver cancer; and to keep patients from having their life treatment affected by liver disease and from having their life expectancy affected by liver disease as much as possible. Most of the people infected with hepatitis B virus, after systematic examination and treatment, will not die because of liver disease. It is recommended that hepatitis B patients do not keep thinking about what the trilogy of hepatitis B – cirrhosis – liver cancer, to live a little more positive and optimistic views. Hepatitis B is a disease transmitted through sexual contact and blood contact, general life contact will not be infected with hepatitis B virus. The spouse of a female hepatitis B patient is recommended to check the five hepatitis B items, if not infected with hepatitis B and no protective antibodies are recommended to be vaccinated against hepatitis B. If protective antibodies are produced and the antibodies reach a certain level, even if no protective measures are used for sexual intercourse, it will not lead to the spouse being infected with hepatitis B and developing the disease. In fact, the fear of breaking up with a spouse who knows they are infected with hepatitis B is a very real problem. There was a very smart girl with hepatitis B in the clinic who told her doctor about her distress and then brought her boyfriend to the clinic so that the doctor could give her boyfriend a detailed introduction to what hepatitis B is, how to protect against it, and what the implications are for marriage and childbirth. The boyfriend accepted the reality and they stayed together. In fact, the breakup was more because of fear, fear because of lack of understanding, detailed understanding of what hepatitis B is a disease, what are the consequences, fear will disappear a lot, and then may accept it will be easier. It’s easy to find priceless treasures, rare to have a lover, can be together the best. The two people together will experience a lot of storms, hepatitis B is just one of the hurdles, can not go through the future there are more storms may not go through, it is better to separate early is not?
