Causes of Low Neutral Glucosidase

Neutral glucosidase is an evaluation index of epididymis function, low level suggests that the secretion function of epididymis is decreased, which affects the vitality and function of sperms, and it can be seen in epididymitis, mycoplasma genitalium infection and so on.
1. Epididymitis: Neutral glucosidase may be caused by inflammation of the epididymis due to bacterial infection, which causes swelling and pain, and can cause obstruction of the vas deferens to different degrees, resulting in impaired reproductive function, leading to low neutral glucosidase.
2. Mycoplasma genitalium infection: Neutral glucosidase can also be due to the infection of the reproductive tract by ureido urea protozoa, Mycoplasma hominis and other infections, resulting in sperm not being able to pass through the vas deferens normally, which will lead to a decrease in seminal plasma neutral glucosidase activity.
Neutral glucosidase if low, suggests that there may be genitourinary infections, the need for timely medical treatment, take the corresponding drugs for treatment, such as mycoplasma infections can be azithromycin, etc., in order to prevent the condition from deteriorating, resulting in the health of the body is damaged.
