Hard pimples can be eliminated by applying heat or medication. The vast majority of hard pimples are secondary to folliculitis or acne, or may be inflammatory nodular changes following certain inflammatory conditions. Hot compresses with a towel are generally recommended to promote local blood circulation and speed up the elimination of hard pimples. It can also be treated with topical medications, which include adapalene gel, tazarotene, benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid, and selenium dioxide. When topical medications are not effective, they can also be combined with systemic medications, including tetracycline, isotretinoin, and compound betamethasone.
