Is daily heartburn an early symptom of stomach cancer?

Some patients with gastric cancer may have heartburn symptoms, but the diagnosis of gastric cancer cannot be made simply on the basis of “heartburn”, which is mostly considered as inflammation in clinical practice and should be determined by examination results. Heartburn is more common in benign diseases of stomach, such as excessive secretion of gastric acid, which leads to gastric ulcer, and patients may experience heartburn-like pain in the stomach. However, if the patient often feels discomfort in upper abdomen, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, belching, anemia, loss of appetite, or sudden bloody stool, weight loss, and weight loss, the possibility of gastric cancer should be considered, and gastroscopy should be performed in gastroenterology department in time to make a clear diagnosis, and early gastric cancer has a better prognosis if treated early. Stomach cancer usually occurs with a history of chronic gastric disease or poor diet and living habits, so regular medical checkups must be done in daily life for early detection and treatment.
