Cervical polyps may cause heavy menstruation, but it is not absolute, and some patients may have no symptoms or only have increased leukorrhea.
Cervical polyps are a common gynecological disease, usually caused by long-term inflammation of the cervix. Some patients with cervical polyps do not experience any unusual symptoms and are only found to have cervical polyps during an examination. Some patients may experience symptoms such as increased leukorrhea, heavy menstruation, prolonged menstruation, abnormal vaginal bleeding, and foul-smelling vaginal discharge.
If the cervical polyp is large in size, it may cause pressure on the patient’s lower back and abdomen, resulting in symptoms such as lumbosacral pain and discomfort. If the cervical polyp presses on the bladder, symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary urgency and incomplete urination may also occur. Cervical polyps can be removed through polypectomy and cervical conization as prescribed by the doctor.
If you are diagnosed with cervical polyps, it is recommended that you follow your doctor’s instructions for treatment to avoid delaying your condition.
