Causes of redness on the neck

Erythema on the neck may be caused by contact dermatitis, eczema, pityriasis rosea or other diseases.
1. Contact dermatitis: contact dermatitis is caused by contact with exogenous substances that irritate the skin or cause allergic reactions. Common manifestations include skin erythema, edema, pinpoint-sized dense papules, blisters, etc., which may be accompanied by itching, burning sensation and other uncomfortable symptoms. So when the patient has contact dermatitis in the neck, it can be manifested as erythema.
2. Eczema: the cause of eczema is not yet clear, may be related to genetic factors, immune abnormalities. Eczema will cause the patient’s skin to appear erythema, corn size papules or papules, blisters, edema, and the local skin may be accompanied by vesicles, oozing, desquamation, roughness and thickening, mossy changes, etc., can also be manifested as erythema on the neck.
3. pityriasis rosea: pityriasis rosea is of unknown etiology, may be associated with viral infections, immune disorders, medication, etc., belongs to a self-limiting disease. The common manifestation of patients is rose-colored skin covered with furfuraceous scales, maculopapular rash, and may also have other symptoms, such as air masses, blisters, etc., and patients may also have red patches on their necks.
4. Other diseases: drug rash, solar dermatitis, herpes zoster, hemangioma, neurodermatitis, etc. may cause erythema on the neck.
