What causes the foggy eyes in the morning?

Foggy eyes in the morning are seen in the following two diseases: the first is Fuchs’ corneal endothelial dystrophy, which is a genetic disease, mostly seen in menopausal women. In the early stages of the disease, there is usually no obvious discomfort, and if there is severe foreign body sensation and other irritation symptoms, soft therapeutic bandage lenses can be worn to relieve the symptoms. If corneal edema or even corneal loss and large corneal blisters occur in the later stages, corneal endothelial transplantation can be done. The second type is epithelial basement membrane dystrophy, which also requires no special treatment in the early stage. If there are uncomfortable symptoms such as foreign body sensation in the eye, symptomatic treatment with preservative-free artificial tears can be applied in drops. If the corneal epithelial defect is recurrent, excimer laser can be done to remove the eroded unhealthy corneal epithelium and induce the growth of new healthy epithelium.
