Consumption, also known as tuberculosis, is a series of chronic infectious diseases caused by the invasion of Mycobacterium tuberculosis into the organism. The most common is pulmonary tuberculosis, but others can be found in tuberculosis of the fallopian tubes, bone tuberculosis, intestinal tuberculosis, kidney tuberculosis, testicular tuberculosis, lymphatic tuberculosis, and tuberculous meningitis. Most of the transmission occurs through respiratory droplets. Tuberculosis mainly presents with symptoms such as low fever, weakness, cough, hemoptysis, and wasting. Generally, it can be cured by early standardized anti-tuberculosis treatment. Once there is a long-term persistent low-grade fever with respiratory symptoms, it is necessary to go to the hospital to rule out the possibility of TB infection.
