A sore on the vulva may be syphilis, and it may also be boils, vestibulitis and other diseases.
1. Boil: It is an acute suppurative inflammation of the deep part of the hair follicle and its surrounding tissues, which can appear locally on the vulva, manifesting as pustules on the vulva, obvious redness, swelling, heat and pain, and hardness at the root. Usually the course of the disease will be pus, broken and cured within a week. In some severe cases, surgical incision and drainage is required.
2. Vestibular adenitis: The infection of staphylococcus and other pathogens invades the vestibular gland and causes abscesses. It can be characterized by swelling and pain on one side of the vulva, resembling an abscess. White pus spots can be seen at the opening of the vestibular gland on the affected side. The disease can be cured by pus flow, some people need to be surgically incised.
3. Syphilis: Syphilis can appear as a chancre on the external genitalia, often on the coronal groove of the penis, glans and prepuce in men, and on the labia majora and minora, labia ligamentata and perineum in women. It may be manifested as a localized pimple, hard nodule and subsequent necrosis, forming a 1-2 cm-sized round or oval painless ulcer with clear borders.
