Hernia is mainly judged by symptoms, signs, and age of onset. The symptoms are a mass protruding from the body surface, and the mass protruding from the body surface can be retracted, such as inguinal hernia can be retracted by hand, or can disappear after lying down, which should be noted as mostly hernia. If the patient is obese and the body surface examination is not obvious, the diagnosis can usually be confirmed by going to the hospital for ultrasound, which can see the size, location and contents of the protruding mass. If the diagnosis cannot be confirmed, further CT scan of the abdomen can be performed. If the protruding mass is not in the abdominal cavity, the diagnosis of hernia can be confirmed based on the results of CT scan. Once the hernia is diagnosed, active surgical treatment is required.
