Bamboo Root is used to clear away heat and resolve phlegm, remove vexation and stop vomiting, and treat phlegm-heat cough; Silkworm Sand is used to remove wind and dampness, harmonize the stomach and resolve dampness, and treat rheumatism and paralysis; Chen Pi is used to regulate the qi, invigorate the spleen, and dry dampness and resolve phlegm, and treat stagnation of qi in the spleen and stomach.

Bamboo Root, the dried middle layer of the stalks of Bamboos, family Gramineae, is effective in clearing away heat and resolving phlegm, removing vexation and stopping vomiting, and is mainly used in the treatment of phlegm-heat coughs and phlegm-induced disorientation in stroke. The adverse reactions and contraindications of bamboo rhizome are not clear.
2. Silkworm sand is the dried feces of silkworms of the family Bombyx mori, its effect is to dispel wind and dampness, and stomach dampness, mainly used for the treatment of rheumatism and paralysis, vomiting and diarrhea (vomiting and diarrhea, followed by persistent muscle tension, stiffness) and other diseases. The adverse reactions and contraindications of Silkworm Sand are not clear.
3. Chenpi, the dried mature fruit peel of orange and its cultivated varieties in the family of Rutaceae, is effective in regulating qi, strengthening the spleen, drying dampness and resolving phlegm, and is mainly used in treating stagnation of qi in the spleen and stomach, vomiting, and eructation (hiccups) and other conditions. However, it is not suitable for patients with solid heat, red tongue and little fluid.
